What Happens During a Sweep
Gone are the days where we send a small, sooty child up the chimney to clean it! We have specialist machinery & cameras to efficiently clean your chimney. First, we will cover all areas we will be working on with clean, waterproof dustsheets. We will also seal the fire area where possible to prevent any escape of soot.
Your chimney will be cleaned thoroughly using high power chimney brushes & all soot removed. Your chimney will then be inspected using our chimney cameras & the draw performance will be tested using a smoke test. Your fire or stove will also be cleaned & inspected & serviced where necessary. Room ventilation & safety will also be checked.
Assuming there are no issues, we will then give you your sweeping certificate. Should any further work be needed on your fire, stove or chimney, we will explain the issues to you & can arrange for the work to be carried out for you, should you wish to use our parent company, Dyfed Chimneys.
On average, each chimney takes about an hour to sweep & service the appliance. The only thing we leave for you to do is dispose of the small black bag of soot & debris from the chimney - you can leave this out for your binmen.
