CCTV Chimney Inspections

We provide chimney inspections across Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire & Ceredigion. We carry out chimney camera inspections, using the latest specialised chimney camera which gives a high quality image of the inside of your chimney or liner. A chimney inspection is useful if:

  • You are concerned about the condition of your chimney

  • Before lighting a fire in your new house

  • You have had a chimney fire to see if there is damage

  • To check blockages or collapsed mid-feathers

  • To inspect a chimney before installing a stove or liner

  • To provide a safety inspection report for health & safety

The chimney is swept first to ensure a clear viewing of the chimney. You will receive a report with pictures and/or video clip, as required. We are HETAS registered & offer an exceptionally high level of service.

Along with chimney inspections, we also offer routine chimney sweeps, bird nest & blockage removals & stove/fire/range servicing. Our parent company 'Dyfed Chimneys' provides stove installation services & further chimney works. Contact us today to discuss your chimney inspection.

What Happens During a Chimney Inspection

Level 1 Chimney Sweep & Inspection: This service is recommended for new customers, new homeowners or those who are looking to use an appliance/fireplace that has not been used before. The chimney is cleaned. A thorough chimney camera inspection is carried out. Video & photographic evidence recorded if any issues are found, in order to provide you with a report. The appliance is thoroughly checked for any defects or maintenance work required. The entire installation is checked to see if it meets with current building regulations & a report can be provided if required. Investigation at this level does not include any destructive investigation or roof access.

Level 2 Chimney Sweep & Inspection: Following the above Level 1 inspection there may be additional concerns. For example it may be necessary to remove part of the installation* in order to investigate an otherwise inaccessible area, or in the case of water ingress issues it may be necessary to access the roof to inspect the chimney stack. For some atypical installations we may need to conduct additional research in order to provide a comprehensive report.

*making good of any destructive investigation at additional cost, to be discussed prior.

Level 3 Chimney Sweep & Inspection: The level 3 inspection covers most concerns. The chimney is swept & inspected & any destructive investigation* can be carried out. The chimney stack is accessed & a full pressure smoke test carried out (if you are a party wall you will need to arrange consent & access with your neighbours. This will be an additional £50) the chimney stack is inspected & you will receive a separate report on its condition, as well as a report on the internal condition of the chimney flue & the installation.*making good of any destructive investigation at additional cost, to be discussed prior.

We pride ourselves on our professional & conscientious service - no mess, no fuss.
